Waterproof, Versatile Outdoor Storage Joins Line of Premium Decking and Railing Options

LAS VEGAS, Nev., Jan 20, 2015 –Trex Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-performance wood-alternative decking and railing, is kicking off the new year by debuting Trex® Outdoor Storage™ at the 2015 National Association of Home Builders International Builders’ Show® (IBS). Along with expanded railing and color selections in the high-performance Trex Transcend® decking collection, this brand-new collection of waterproof cabinetry storage joins an ever-growing portfolio of high-performance, eco-friendly outdoor living products featured at this year’s Trex booth (#C5431).

“Today’s homeowners are increasingly looking to the backyard not just for relaxation, but also as a primary space for social gatherings” said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. “Fueled by this strong momentum, Trex continues to engineer what’s next in outdoor living with innovative new products that meet the rising demand for customized, one-of-a-kind outdoor living spaces.”

Trex Outdoor Storage
Manufactured and sold by Florida-based NatureKast Products through a trademark licensing agreement with Trex Company, the new collection of high-performance, waterproof cabinetry storage is designed to add both beauty and functionality to any outdoor living space. Available in a wide variety of sizes and storage options, Trex Outdoor Storage is offered in all five Trex Transcend premium tropical decking shades to perfectly blend into any setting. In addition, Trex Outdoor Storage is manufactured with high-density, low-maintenance resin that won’t fade, warp or crack, and is engineered to withstand the elements and resist corrosion. The entire collection, which includes bench storage drawers, cabinets and ice coolers, is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty – matching Trex high-performance decking in both beauty and longevity.

“In recent years, the popularity of outdoor entertaining has surged, and today’s decks are designed with this in mind, with more thought given to outdoor kitchens, dining spaces and storage,” added Kaplan. “From hidden ice chests to drawer boxes for pillows and pool equipment, Trex Outdoor Storage maximizes outdoor living space by providing extra room for backyard essentials.”

Other Trex products making their debut at this year’s IBS show include:

• Trex Transcend® Decking in Island Mist and Havana Gold – Recently launched for the 2015 outdoor living season, the high-performance Trex Transcend decking collection has expanded with two new rich, tropical styles – Island Mist (a calm, silvery shade) and Havana Gold (a warm, golden color) – inspired by the beauty of streaked hardwoods. Island Mist and Havana Gold join eight other Trex Transcend decking colors available for consumers and contractors to outfit their outdoor living spaces. Like all of Trex’s tropical tones, both Island Mist and Havana Gold feature realistic wood grains engineered right into the board, which deliver a deeper, more natural appearance and a low-sheen luster that will last for years to come.

• Trex Aluminum Gates and ADA-Compliant Handrails – Rounding out the Trex railing line are sturdy and stylish aluminum gates and new ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)-compliant secondary handrails. Designed to seamlessly blend with all Trex railing options, the new gates and handrails offer an extra level of safety, strength and accessibility for any deck design. For projects requiring ADA compliance, Trex’s newest aluminum handrails not only meet all dimensional requirements, but also provide excellent strength and durability.

Trex offers a full portfolio of beautiful integrated outdoor living options, all of which will be on display at the International Builders’ Show. From its wide-variety of decking options to railing, Trex Elevations® Steel Deck Framing, Trex Spiral Stairs™, Trex Outdoor Lighting™ and accessories such as pergolas and Trex Outdoor Furniture™ – Trex makes it easy for homeowners to create a complete outdoor living space.
