Profile Offers Easy Installation and Maintenance Coupled with Distinctive Look

WINCHESTER, Va., July 3, 2013 – Trex Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing, has introduced a new beadboard to its TrexTrim™ product line. The six-inch profile, which is a popular option for ceilings, soffits and wainscoting, features both a reversible surface and a sealed bead design that offers superior benefits.

During the installation process, the sealed bead design is easier to keep clean than traditional beadboard, which features a milled, porous surface that may capture and retain dirt. The new beadboard also offers the same longevity, durability and ultra low-maintenance of the entire TrexTrim line.

New TrexTrim beadboard features a low-gloss matte finish and a color that matches other Trex® cellular PVC products. As a result, contractors and homeowners can avoid the time and cost of post-installation painting. In addition, the beadboard boasts a groove design on the non-beaded side that is much more pronounced than the v-groove offered on traditional beadboard – providing a more distinguished appearance. Finally, a new wide nailing flange makes installation simpler.

“Trex continues to grow its innovative TrexTrim product portfolio in order to provide building professionals with the most expansive line of high-performance, low-maintenance trim products on the market,” said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. “With the addition of a new beadboard option, we’re offering builders and contractors greater design flexibility and increased opportunities for profitability.”

Earlier this year, Trex introduced a variety of new TrexTrim moulding profiles, including a Garage Door Stop designed to help seal the gap between a garage door and doorjamb to improve a home’s energy efficiency and prevent dirt, insects, wind and moisture from entering the garage. Additionally, Trex launched an 18-foot Brick Mould profile ideally suited to trim windows, entry doors and garages – enhancing the curb appeal of a home.

Along with new profiles, Trex improved the surface aesthetics of its moulding offerings with a matte finish that is aligned with contemporary home design trends and was developed as a direct result of homeowner demand. The new finish also more closely matches TrexTrim boards, sheets and builder profiles.

TrexTrim features a premium PVC technology that is uniform in color, density and dimensions, while offering crisp lines and clean routed edges for a smooth, seamless and professional appearance. Backed by a 25-year limited warranty, TrexTrim provides homebuilders with superior workability for easy cutting, fastening and painting.
