On March 2, 2012, a category 4 tornado ripped through my hometown of Henryville, Ind., leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. As I rushed to protect my family from this deadly storm, my home began to collapse all around me. Thankfully, my children emerged from the tornado unscathed. I, on the other hand, endured the loss of both of my legs while shielding them from harm.
When our family embarked on rebuilding our home, we chose Transcend decking in Gravel Path to create a beautiful covered porch that wraps around our new home. With three kids constantly on-the-go, there’s a lot of foot traffic in and out of the house. Yet, our decking is so durable that it looks just as good as the day we installed it. The biggest blessing with our new deck, though, is that because it’s Trex rather than wood, we won’t have to spend the time putting in hard labor each year to sand and stain it.
We have finally settled into our new home and we can’t wait to create many great memories on our Trex deck!
