Trex Outdoor Living Products Transform Backyard of HGTV Canada’s “Home to Win”
WINCHESTER, Va., May 3, 2017 – When Home to Win, the original series by HGTV Canada, planned to return to offer Canadians the opportunity to compete for a masterfully designed, contemporary waterfront home, there was no doubt that the high-performance, low-maintenance and eco-friendly benefits of Trex outdoor living products would be the perfect choice for enhancing the home’s outdoor living space. The premier show, which aired April 30, revealed the first aspects of the home’s dramatic transformation, including a beautiful boat dock featuring Trex Transcend decking. Trex products are featured throughout the home’s spectacular outdoor living space and will be highlighted in four different episodes throughout the course of the season.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this ultimate lake house,” said Adam Zambanini, vice president of marketing for Trex Company, the world’s number one decking and railing brand, and leader in high-performance, low-maintenance outdoor living products. “The impressive backyard transformation demonstrates how Trex offers the total outdoor living package to help homeowners design their own outdoor oasis.”
The second season of Home to Win brings together 30 of the best-known celebrity builders, designers and real estate experts to pool their extraordinary expertise, creativity and renovation know-how to design and renovate a home that three Canadian families will compete to win. Joined by host Sangita Patel of ET Canada, this team of experts will completely transform an average house into a dream waterfront property while hopeful viewers from across the country vie for the chance to win the spectacular home in the dramatic series finale.
An ideal choice for this lakeside retreat, Trex Transcend in Island Mist is used throughout the outdoor areas, delivering superior durability and minimal upkeep. Unlike wood, high-performance Trex Transcend decking resists fading, staining, scratching and mold – and won’t rot, warp, crack or splinter. It’s also insect-proof and splinter-free, making it safer and more comfortable for families with kids and pets. Trex Transcend can withstand years of heavy foot traffic and severe weather, as well as food and drink spills. Upkeep is hassle-free with no sanding, staining or painting required, and soap and water is all that’s needed to maintain the decking for decades.
Featuring the look and feel of genuine hardwood, Trex Transcend blends naturally and beautifully with the home’s setting. Each deck board features a proprietary nine-element surface formulation that produces a natural, wood-like grain pattern with a lustrous satin finish that feels comfortable underfoot.
“Choosing Trex Transcend in Island Mist for this project was a no brainer,” explained Paul Lafrance, ‘Trexpert,’ HGTV personality, and backyard design expert who led the Home to Win team that renovated the outdoor living spaces. “In addition to all the great benefits of Trex, the grey patina of Island Mist features realistic streaking that mimics the look and feel of aged tropical hardwood, allowing homeowners to create their own exotic escape – no passport required.”
While Island Mist boasts the beauty of tropical wood, there are none of the environmental stresses associated with importing endangered hardwoods. In fact, like all Trex wood-alternative products, Trex Transcend decking contains 95 percent recycled content – and not a single tree has ever been cut down in the making of Trex products.
