Two New Profiles Provide Incremental Opportunities, Design Flexibility
WINCHESTER, Va., Oct. 5, 2010 – Trex Company, the nation’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking, railing, fencing and trim products, recently announced that it will continue to expand and innovate the high-performance Trex Transcend® line with the addition of new deck boards in 2”x6” and 2”x4” profiles. These line enhancements are the direct result of feedback from the professional channel.
“Trex Transcend decking and railing has received tremendous industry support due to its unprecedented combination of performance and aesthetics,” said Adam Zambanini, director of marketing for Trex. “With the introduction of two new board profiles, we will be able to further maximize the marketshare of this product portfolio – and also help our industry partners leverage new application opportunities.”
Both new boards will be offered in all four of the current Trex Transcend colors – Vintage Lantern, Tree House, Gravel Path and Fire Pit. The 2”x6” deck board is an ideal solution for many commercial applications – including boardwalks, marinas and docks. It will be stocked in 12’, 16’ and 20’ lengths and available in 32-piece units. Suitable for the increasingly popular “over the rail” applications, the 2”x4” deck board will be stocked in 12’, and 16’ lengths and available in 48-piece units.
“By launching each new board in reduced bundle packs, we’re making it possible for our dealers and distributors to increase productivity and profitability by moving more product in less time,” said Zambanini. “The new boards also will provide more design options to our TrexPro® installers and their customers.”
