Company Takes Top Spot in Three of Four Key Performance Areas for Six Straight Years

WINCHESTER, Va., April 15, 2013 – Trex, the world’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing, has once again captured three first-place rankings in Builder magazine’s 2013 Brand Use Study.

Proving its unparalleled brand power among trade professionals, Trex was named number one in “brand familiarity,” “brand used the most” and “brand used in the past two years” for the composite/PVC decking category. In addition, Trex earned high marks for “quality” and continued to gain share in this performance area.

“Year after year the results of the Builder study speak volumes about the trust and confidence that contractors and builders place in our products,” said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. “We’re proud that our valued trade partners have made Trex the undisputed brand of choice within the wood-alternative decking industry, and we will continue to deliver upon our brand promise of superior performance, innovation and aesthetics.”

Trex is a consistent winner in the three major brand performance areas reported by Builder magazine’s annual study. For six consecutive years, it has secured the highest honors for “brand familiarity,” “brand used the most” and “brand used in the past two years.”

The 2013 Brand Use Study conducted by Hanley Wood Publishing and Readex Research, an independent research company, surveyed more than 11,000 readers of Builder magazine on materials across 70 product categories. The full study will be published in the April 2013 issue of Builder.
