New Offerings Deliver Maximum Strength and Minimalist Style for Trex Railing
WINCHESTER, Va., October 22, 2014 – Trex Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-performance wood-alternative decking and railing, announced the expansion of its railing portfolio with the introduction of two new offerings. Rounding out the Trex railing line are sturdy and stylish aluminum gates and new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant secondary handrails. Designed to seamlessly blend with all Trex railing options, the new gates and handrails offer an extra level of safety, strength and accessibility for any deck design.
“These new offerings round out our industry-leading Trex railing portfolio with products designed to help our customers cater to a broader audience,” said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. “The durable and easy-to-install gates and handrails provide attractive, customizable solutions for any outdoor setting.”
Trex Aluminum Gates
Offering the versatility and performance benefits of Trex railing, the new aluminum gates are designed to complete any deck and railing system while emphasizing the view beyond. Designed to coordinate with the entire Trex railing line, the new gates possess exceptional strength and can be customized to fit nearly any opening up to 48 inches wide. The welded panels with slide-on posts make installation fast and flexible. Trex also offers high-quality adjustable hinges with a premium locking latch.
Trex aluminum gates are available in three colors - Charcoal Black, Bronze and Classic White - with a choice of square or round balusters. The heavy-duty powder coating allows the aluminum to retain color and resist corrosion, while washing clean with soap and water for low maintenance. Additionally, the gates contain a minimum of 40 percent recycled aluminum, which also is a 100 percent recyclable and renewable resource, adding sustainability to the appeal of Trex aluminum products. This new product offering will be available in December 2014.
ADA-Compliant Handrails
For projects requiring ADA-compliance, Trex’s newest aluminum handrails not only meet all dimensional requirements, but also provide excellent strength and durability. Available in three colors – Charcoal Black, Bronze and Classic White – the heavy-duty aluminum rails feature a high-quality powder-coated finish that is AAMA-2604 compliant and delivers better fade resistance than many competitive materials.
Featuring a full complement of components to accommodate easy installation, handrail wall mounts and wall returns include fasteners for both wood post and aluminum post installations. Aluminum collars hide railing seams for a smooth transition between components, and aluminum end caps conceal open rail ends. Expected availability of this product line is November 2014.
“We are proud to offer the industry’s most robust selection of wood-alternative decking and railing products,” Kaplan added. “These new offerings reflect our commitment to being a comprehensive resource for our customers by delivering innovative outdoor living solutions for every design taste, lifestyle and need.”
Like all Trex decking and railing products, the new Trex aluminum gates and ADA-compliant handrails come with a 25-Year Limited Residential Warranty. For more information, visit trex.com.
