The industry-leading Trex collection brings an elevated aesthetic to HGTV® Dream Home 2022. This luxury cabin’s two levels of spectacular outdoor living spaces feature Trex low-maintenance products made to withstand the home’s Vermont climate.

High-performance Trex Transcend® decking and Signature® railing were used to create the modern mountain home’s two second-floor decks and ground-level open-air living room. The decking, made from 95% recycled materials, cleans easily with warm soapy water and a soft bristle brush while the powder-coated aluminum rails, made from 50% recycled material, require only a regular cleaning with warm water and non-abrasive detergent to remove dirt, grime and other build-up.

With an average of 112 inches of snow per year dropping in this Green Mountain ski community, snow clean-up is easy too. Our most durable decking line, Transcend is resilient to harsh winter weather. For light dustings, snow can be quickly removed with a broom. To shovel more substantial snowfall, plastic shovels are the safest choice as metal shovels can damage composite materials. Calcium chloride or rock salt can also be used to melt snow and ice.

All exterior building materials require cleaning and a Trex deck is no different, but no matter what Mother Nature brings, homeowners can take solace in knowing easy maintenance means they’ll spend more time enjoying their outdoor space and less time maintaining it.
